Mozilla to enable Windows Native Notifications by default in Firefox 111
Firefox supports push notifications, but it doesn’t use the notification system on Windows 11 (Notification Center) and Windows 10 (Action Center),
Mozilla added support for Toast Notifications in Action Center on Windows 10 in 2018. However, the feature has not been released to the public yet.
Now after five years, the organization has decided to enable Windows Notifications by default in the upcoming Firefox release.
If you have subscribed to websites to get updates, Firefox may show a notification at the bottom right corner and it will disappear just like that.

To address this and track received notifications, Mozilla is working on a new Firefox update that will include support for Windows Notifications.
Ensure notifications are enabled on Windows 11 or Windows 10, otherwise, Firefox may not show these.
Behind the scenes, Firefox is defaulting the following preferences to on in about: config to make the feature work.
alerts.useSystemBackend
alerts.useSystemBackend.windows.notificationserver.enabled

Mozilla is confident of the feature of riding the trains this time.
The benefit of the change is that past notifications are always available to check even when firefox is closed when you missed them while working.
Notification Spam is a concern
Both Firefox and Windows offer settings to control Notifications.
So you’re in full control of notifications if you receive them in large numbers.
In the case of Firefox, you’ll able to handle websites sending notifications by going to Settings > Permissions > Notifications >Settings
When comes to Windows 11, Focus assists in that regard.
Ensure notifications are enabled on Windows 11 or Windows 10 otherwise, Firefox may not show these.
