What happens when Malwarebytes for Windows Premium trial expires?

When you download and install Malwarebytes on Windows, by default, 14 day-Premium trial version of the product will be installed on your computer. When the evaluation period is over, you start to receive notifications from Malwarebytes (from the notification area and in the dashboard) to upgrade to Premium version, saying “Your premium trial has expired’. The notification offers two choices: to ‘Upgrade to real-time protection’ and ‘I don’t need real-time protection’.

But the fact is your Premium trial version was already downgraded and converted into Malwarebytes free version after the expiry. You’ll be continuously nagged with popups to upgrade to Premium version, to avoid this, launch Malwarebytes, visit Settings > Account Details. and click on ‘Deactivate Premium trial’ button to use the free version without upgrade prompts or popups.
