Remove Free Download Manager’s Fatal error and its Extension in Firefox

We’ve recently covered about Free Download Manager 5.1 beta, and its integration in Chrome, Firefox and IE browsers, when you uninstall this version of FDM, Free Download Manager Firefox extension doesn’t get uninstalled, it gets left behind, of course, we should expected these bugs to happen with a beta version of program, which is the case with FDM 5.

But the latest Firefox stable has showed this error on startup of the browser: Free Download Manager Fatal error: browser helper exe unexpected shutdown. Please restart the browser to continue the use of Free Download Manager extension. We should expect these bugs with the Beta version of Program, which is the case with FDM 5.

Restarting Firefox doesn’t help, you’ll receive the error again, and Firefox doesn’t offer Remove option for FDM extension.

Let us see how to remove the Free Download Manager Firefox Extension, which fixes the error also.

1. Exit Firefox, use Windows Search to find [email protected], once you find it in the search results, open the folder, it should exist at this similar path: C:Users<username>AppDataRoamingMozillaExtensions{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}

2. Delete the total folder, including the files in it.

3.  Restart Firefox, you won’t see the error or the extension in add-ons manager, problem solved.
