This is on the cards. Recently, we reported Google is redesigning Chrome Incognito Page on Android, now it is available for desktop version also. What made Search engine giant to alter content on Incognito Page is still unknown, but this came after the recent lawsuit filed against it. Anyway, the current page clearly indicates what Chrome incognito mode does and what it doesn’t.

What Chrome incognito Mode does, and what it doesn’t
When you close Incognito windows in Chrome browser, your browser history, form filled data, cookies will be deleted, the bookmarks and downloads will be preserved.
Incognito Mode is not anonymous. Websites or your Internet service provider can still see what websites you visit.
The aim of the feature is to prevent your activity from being seen by others when you u share your device.
And, Chrome has recently started blocking third-party cookies by default.
The incognito page displays this information when you open the incognito window in the Chrome browser.

Google is now updating that for Chrome browser on the desktop.
When you close incognito tabs, your browsing activity, search history, and information entered into forms will be cleared, but sites, schools or employees, and ISPs can still track your browsing activity.
The new page goes on to clarify the point that “incognito doesn’t make you invisible”
Since, Incognito mode blocks tracking cookies out of the box, some sites which you visit may break, Chrome cautions.
