How to Update Microsoft Edge Dev taskbar icon to new icon

Recently Microsoft unveiled a  new logo for Chromium Edge and announced it is planning to launch Edge Stable on January 15, 2020. The company today started rolling out new icon to Edge Canary, Dev and beta channels, as of now, except Edge Dev taskbar icon, remaining channels (stable also, even though officially not released yet) desktop shortcuts and taskbar icons have been updated to the new icon, here is how easily you can change Microsoft Edge Dev taskbar icon to new one.

1. Launch Microsoft Edge Dev

2. Click on ellipsis icon and select Settings

3. Click on Profile, click on the ellipsis icon for your profile and choose “Edit”, in the Edit Profile dialog, rename Profile. For instance, if your profile name is Sam, change it to Sam1.

4. Click “Update”, close Edge and relaunch browser to notice Edge Dev with the new icon on the taskbar.

Microsoft Edge team said they’ll be pushing an update in a day or two to update the taskbar icon for Edge Dev, you can wait or follow the above simple procedure.
