Starting version 2.6, Vivaldi browser displays unread tabs counter in Window Panel on the side panel, here is how you can disable unread tab notifications in Windows Panel in Vivaldi browser.
In 2016, with version 1.6 Vivaldi introduced Page Title Tab notifications and this feature is enabled by default. This is how the feature works: the browser checks for unread notifications or new content in websites and notifies you about them by showing a number above the site favicon. The tab notifications are useful to know about new updates on Twitter, Facebook or new email messages on Gmail, but if you don’t like them, Vivaldi allows to turn them off.
Window Panel Notifications
Now in addition to tab notifications, Vivaldi now displays notifications in Window Panel also. If you don’t know, Vivaldi Window Panel that can be opened by clicking on Window icon on side panel shows a tree-style view of open tabs and lets you change their order by dragging and dropping. it also allows to create tab stacks and tile them.
But we found the notifications counter in Window Panel a bit distracting and annoying, to be honest, if you too don’t like it like us, you can disable it, here is how.
1. Click on Vivaldi > Menu > Tools > Settings
2. Click on Panel and under “Window Panel”, uncheck “Show Unread Tabs Badge”
3. Close Settings Window.
