Microsoft quietly adds Google, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo Search Providers to Insider Edge Canary

The sole search provider Bing in Microsoft Edge Canary build got some company, Microsoft added Google, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo (country specific) and Bing is still the default and recommended search option in new Edge browser that is based on Chromium.

Interestingly, a recent update to Canary version of Edge Chromium shipped same search engines that exist in Google Chrome as of now –Google, Yahoo India, Bing, and DuckDuckGo– where in latter, Google is the default and in former, Bing is recommended.

But the process of adding a new search engine hasn’t changed, you still need to visit search engine homepage, do some search, come back to address bar settings in Privacy and Services to see the new search engine option to make it as default.
