Yes! You can now hide bookmarks bar on new tab page in regular and incognito windows also with Ctrl+Shift +B shortcut in Google Chrome browser, this is not possible before, now in Chrome Canary 75. The change has been landed in Canary after Chromium developers fixed a 6-year-old bug.

Hide bookmarks bar on New Tab Page in Google Chrome
Before doing a presentation or taking a screenshot or even for recording a video with new tab page open in Chrome browser, you might hesitate and try to hide or remove some bookmarks on bookmarks bar on NTP first because you don’t want them to see by everybody.
The thing is by pressing Ctrl+Shift+B shortcut or by deselecting ‘show bookmarks bar’ option in the bookmarks bar context menu, you can’t make them invisible, you can now do that in upcoming Chrome 75 which is now in Canary version.

UPDATE March 23, 2019: Apprently, you can hide bookmarks bar only when you don’t have any bookmarks on it, that’s a poor decision from Google. According to bug bookmark bar will always be shown if the user as at least 1 bookmark. We’ve missed this during our testing.
