After installing Firefox 57 aka Firefox Quantum, you can notice a bookshelf icon on the toolbar, its the library panel, which has all your stuff: Bookmarks, Pocket list, History, Downloads, Synced Tabs, Screenshots and Recent Highlights.
Items in Recent Highlights in Library menu are populated by the data from Activity Stream in the New Tab Page. If you want to hide or remove it, you can, here is how that can be done.
Firefox 57 : Get the old New Tab Page back
Firefox 57 : Mozilla replaces New Tab Page with Activity Stream
Removing Recent highlights in the Library menu
- Visit about:config
- Type ‘Activity’, find the preference ‘browser.library.activity-stream.enabled’ and change its value to’ false’.
- Done.
Firefox 57 Bookmarks Menu: Recent Bookmarks and Pocket List removed
Is there any way to put specific bookmarks in its place, like in the old browser?
Sorry didn’t get what you’re asking, can be more clear about what you want in Quantum?
You say – “Visit about:config” where is that?
Enter about:config in the address bar and press enter.
You’re brilliant! Thank you.
This technique can not work in Firefox version 64!
The about:config thing is still working for me as I checked.
