Do this when Google Chrome Installer doesn’t run

Generally, after downloading the Chrome Setup file, when you double click to open it the Chrome installer will run. If you’ve downloaded online installer, Chrome will be downloaded first and after that, it will be installed. If you’ve a Chrome offline installer file, then Chrome will be installed without need to connect to the internet.

In both the occasions, Google Chrome installer needs to run and it will complete the task of installing Chrome browser on your computer. What do you do if the installer doesn’t launch after double clicking the Chrome setup file? If you’re facing this issue, here is how you can fix.

Fix Google Chrome Installer doesn’t run

  1. Open Registry Editor by typing Regedit in Run command dialog
  2. Navigate toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionImage File Execution Options
  3.  Delete GoogleUpdate.exe key

Now try to run Chrome Setup file, the installer will be launched, Chrome will be downloaded and installed on your computer without any issues.
