Chrome 52: Mac gets Material design, Windows to get with Chrome 53

Google has began transitioning its Chrome browser desktop products to material design, Chrome 52 stable released today has brought the new design for Mac, Windows users still need to wait till Chrome 53 – just one version ahead or interested users can visit chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md link and select Material setting and restart the browser to see how it looks.

What’s new in Chrome 52 stable

The material design is currently available to top Chrome elements only. For instance, tabstrip, toolbar, findbar and download shelf have been updated, but not the secondary UI of Chrome like some menus, dialogs and bubbles etc.

The App Launcher has been officially retired, no longer available. You can still access installed apps by visiting chrome://apps page or check some of the alternatives we’ve posted for you to try at the below link.
