Google Chrome to Automatically Block Malicious Software Downloads

With Automatic Updates, Safe Browsing and sandboxing, Google Chrome browser is already more secured. But these are not enough, where nowadays malicious programs somehow gets installed on users systems and hijacking browser settings- FYI Chrome already prevents third-party programs from silently installing extensions in browser.

Google already offers Reset Settings button under Advanced Settings for Chrome which restores browser to factory-fresh state. Today, Google has announced Canary build now automatically blocks downloading of malicious software.

If Chrome detects a file as malicious, following like message -“content.exe  is malicious and Chrome has blocked it” appears on download tray, you can click “dismiss” message.

Google has not said when this security feature will be available to Stable channel.
