There are several freeware and commercial apps available on the web in fact websites like speedtest.net lets you know your ISP’s upload and download speed, My Network Speed is freeware portable network card monitoring software shows download and upload speed of network/internet connection in a tiny window on desktop.
Using My Network Speed
Download the program zip file, extract its contents to a folder and run My Network Speed executable. If you’ve more than one Lan cards attached to CPU it detects one that you’re using to connect to internet, you can choose the network interface monitor to monitor and select right one from its menu in system tray icon.
From the menu of App’s tray icon you can able to
- change window style to horizontal (by default set to vertical),
- minimize the window to the system tray
- lock window position
- Set the program to auto start with windows
My Network Speed works on Windows XP/Vista/7 (32 & 64 -bit).
