Chromium team has redesigned the Chrome browser’s Privacy Settings or the Privacy and Security Settings card in Chrome 80. The card has been simplified to display Clear browsing data, Site Settings at the top and other options have been kept hidden under the “More” button. The privacy settings card’s new UI is currently available behind a flag named ” Privacy Settings Redesign” in Canary and can be enabled by visiting chrome://flags page.

Normally, Privacy and Security Settings are present under the Advanced section and it provides these settings: Sync and Google Services, allow signing into Chrome browser, Send a Do Not Track request, check payment methods, Preload Pages, Manage certificates, Site Settings, and Clear browsing data.
If you now visit chrome://flags page in latest Chome Canary 81.0.3988.0 or later and enable the “Privacy Settings Redesign” flag, you’ll notice some changes in Chrome Settings page, here are they:
Privacy and Security in Settings menu has been moved from Advanced to Basic and the Privacy and Security card now shows three rows only when compared to the previous eight. The chromium team made the following visible and remaining available under the More button.
- Clear browsing data
- Site Settings

The flag description itself conveys the reasons for the change: “to make it (privacy Settings card) more prominent and easier to use “.

UPDATE January 08, 2020: Privacy Settings redesign is enabled by default in Chrome 80 beta.
