Firefox is testing the Picture in Picture button in the address bar when the video is playing. Here is how you can enable or disable this PiP icon in the URL bar.
Till now, Mozilla Firefox shows the PiP icon on a video when you hover over it to launch the video in a tiny resizable window.
Now in addition to this, Firefox may soon provide another option in the address bar to open and close video in PiP mode.
Once you play a video, the PiP icon appears in the URL bar. Clicking it will enter the video in Picture in Picture mode, and clicking on the same will close the PiP window.

The PiP toggle also works with the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+] on Windows.
How to enable the Picture in Picture [PiP] button in the address bar in Firefox
- Visit about:config
- Tick the checkmark and click “Accept the Risk and continue”
- Look for media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.urlbar-button.enabled and set to true
Benefits of PiP icon in the address bar:
- Without needing to hover over the video, you can click on the PiP icon in the URL bar to enter the video in PiP mode.
- The icon also conveys Firefox is playing a video.

- Find and change media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.urlbar-button.enabled Pref value to false.
