How to disable News feed on Chromium Microsoft Edge New Tab Page

Now, most Microsoft Edge insiders want to disable news feed on the start page in Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser. Classic Edge does offer settings to hide feed and Top sites on new tab page and it even allows to set NTP to a blank page, where the new Edge doesn’t, but still, you can able to disable news feed in new Microsoft Edge browser.

Chromium based Microsoft Edge without news Feed

First things first, new Edge allows to customize the new tab page to your liking, it provides Focused, Inspirational, Informational and Custom options in the hamburger menu where you can choose an option. Focused only shows top sites whereas Inspirational along with Top sites, shows image of the day from Bing, and Informational adds more garbage with the news feed.

The custom option allows to hide all three: Most visited sites, Image of day and feeds, but feeds will be still visible if you scroll down.

nope. that flag doesn’t get rid of the news section – just scroll down and it’s still there, i.e. it’s loading every time you open a new tab

Before enabling the flag you need to choose custom and turn off ” show feeds”, then it should work. We’ll update the article with this clarification.
