Screenshots of Chromium-based Edge build’s Icon and Installer Leaked on Internet

Today, Microsoft’s Program Manager for open web and browsers, Chris Heilmann accidentally shared Chromium based Edge build icon in his timeline on Twitter, by the time he realized and deleted the tweet, its too late as it can be seen by anyone now and he confirmed when asked by other users that it is from local build.

Last year, Microsoft announced they’ll use Blink Engine for Microsoft Edge browser and ditch EdgeHTML engine, and said then, Microsoft Edge Preview build will be available in early 2019, after that recently, Edge Program Manager confirmed Chromium based Edge (codename Anaheim) will be available for everyone to test, not tied to insider program.

Seems Microsoft is already testing Edge preview build internally and now its icon has been unintentionally revealed. A few days back, Microsoft Edge installer screenshots leaked, here they are.

Well, Microsoft yet to officially announce a name for their upcoming browser based on Chromium, until then, we can call it as Edgium or Chromedge what ever, for now, from the icon we can tell it may be using Canary build.
