We all know we can customize Firefox browser with add-ons available on the Mozilla add-ons site, AMO offers Add-on collection which lets you create your bundle of favorite add-ons and share it with your friends via email with a link provided by AMO, two years back Mozilla introduced Add-on Collector Firefox extension which turns collections into subscriptions in your browser and notifies you when any new add-ons are published to one of your collections. Mozilla today decided to discontinue this add-on as they can use the time they spend on this to other projects.
Reasons for retiring add-on collector
Though this add-on is used by only few hundreds of users that is not really the cause to stop the support. To support collector in future Mozilla had to spend more time to add each feature and they’ve to rewrite all APIs in a new language to keep the add-on working since Bandwagon API used by the Add-on Collector resides on older version of site which soon will retire.
“The good news is that most of the features (and many additional ones!) are available on the add-ons site already. If you have the Collector installed, you’ll soon see a button in the Add-ons Manager that will take you to them on the add-ons site, where you can continue creating and managing collections” Mozilla says in their Add-on blog.
the Collector be installed in my firefox and avant browser .it is so cool.
