Skype 6.5 Beta brings Video Messaging Preview for Windows

6.5 Beta version of Skype has been released for Windows 7 with Skype Video Messaging Preview feature. This feature will soon be available for preview to Windows 8 Skype application as well for other Skype Apps on iPhone, iPad, and Android platforms. Skype Video Messaging allows users to record video messages and send to people whom they want at any time even when they’re not online, they’ll be able to view this video message once when they logged onto Skype.

Skype 6.5 beta fixes following issues

  • Calling: Ability to call is disabled in some situations when trying to call a number
  • Calling: Stability of the application when placing outgoing calls & no camera present in system

This Beta is preconfigured to install Skype click to Call and makes Bing as your search engine and MSN as homepage for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. So look for these options carefully during the install and uncheck them to opt-out.
