Firefox 82 to release on October 20 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android with new features, improvements, and bug fixes. While desktop release brings video playback and watching improvements, the Android version sweeps out tracking cookies automatically by deleting site data periodically.

What you need to know:
- Mozilla expands redirect tracking protection to Android
- Picture-in-Picture feature button gets an overhaul
- Firefox on Windows uses Directcomposition for hardware decoded video to improve CPU and GPU usage during Video playback, which results in improving battery life.

This release brings performance improvements. According to release notes, opening new windows got quicker by 10% and restoring session by 17%
WebRender is being rolled out to more devices.
Media Session API is enabled by default.
Firefox for Android:
- Recently Closed tabs option is now available in New Tab Tray Menu
- First party cookies will be cleared by Firefox automatically. Mozilla calls the feature as “ETP cookie purging”
This version more notably allows you to open Recently close tabs and offers protection against Redirect tracking cookies.

- You can grab Firefox for Windows or Mac or Linux from the Mozilla FTP site.
- Similarly, Firefox 82.1.0 RC2 is available on GitHub for download
