Google Chrome 75 released for Windows, Mac and Linux and available download. You can able to upgrade to the latest version by selecting “about Google Chrome” in the help menu in Chrome 74. Last year we reported Chrome is testing Rich Entity suggestions, means it shows description and image about the celebrities or movie titles or places when you type first letters in Omnibox.
For instance, in the below screenshot you can notice typing “ra” resulted, Chrome to display information about Rafael Nadal with his image and his profession -a tennis player, that’s how rich suggestions will be displayed.
Omnibox is now showing more information like weather, answers to questions and can be used as a calculator also, so Chrome Omnibox is more than an address bar now. But the display of images for suggestions in the dropdown in address bar (though it adds value and can be useful to some) may annoy you, if you don’t want them to appear, you can turn them off.
For that
1. Visit chrome://flags page
2. Search for the entity, find ” Omnibox rich entity Suggestions”
3. Select “Disabled” and restart the browser.
This flag likely to stay for a couple or three future Chrome releases and then it vanishes, yes it is temporary. You can use it and stop Chrome from showing images in suggestions in Omnibox for a few months from now on.
