Firefox 64 Release version to limit CFR Recommended Add-ons to three only

Mozilla has decided to show only three recommended add-ons in Firefox 64 stable version which is scheduled to release on December 11, 2018.

During Nightly and Beta testing, Mozilla has shown CFR addon recommendations to users for these sites: Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, and Amazon. Now the company is planning to reduce the recommendations down to three and the final recommended add-ons that will be displayed to users in Firefox 64 stable version are: Facebook Container, YouTube and Google Translate, these extensions will be suggested when you visit respective sites.

What are CFR Addon/extension recommendations and how to disable them?

Mozilla has readied Contextual Feature Recommender system to recommend extensions to users when they visit related sites, so the users can benefit from them.

Note: The company has used this system to test ProtonVPN service.

Firefox 64, which has got Windows 10 notifications support and removed RSS Feed and live bookmarks support, to come with a setting in options to opt out of receiving extension recommendations,  visit options > General> Browsing, and uncheck ‘ Recommend Extensions as you browse’, done.
