Google is updating Global Media Controls UI in the Chrome browser with options to manage cast sessions and select audio devices to play the music through GMC.

Global Media Controls or Media Hub lets you manage media playing in the Chrome browser. When audio or video is playing in Chrome, GMC icon appears on the toolbar and lets you take control of it where you can pause the music or play previous/ next track when a playlist is played.
Recently, Google added an option to Media Controls to enter Picture-in-Picture mode.
The company also made the media controls UI appear in an overlay where you can drag and place it anywhere on the screen. For this, you need to enable the Global Media Controls Overlay flag.
The Chromium team now allows users to select the audio output devices in Media Controls for playback when they enable the “Global Media Controls Seamless Transfer” flag in Canary.

Today, another feature has been added to Global Media Controls where the users without the need to visit Cast dialog, can able to control a cast session that was already started or stopped right from Media Controls.
This feature is behind “Global media controls control Cast start/stop” and can be enabled in Chrome 86 Canary.
