.NET Framework 4.6.2 comes out of Preview [Offline Installer]

Microsoft has released the final version of .NET Framework 4.6.2 and is available for download. FYI, .NET 4.6.2 is already part of Windows 10 Anniversary update. Those using Windows 10 v1511 or other versions of Windows like Windows 8.1, Windows 7 SP1,  can download and install the latest .NET framework version on their computer.

For Windows 7/8/10, .NET Framework 4.6.2 will be installed to/as

  • In Programs and features of Control Panel in Windows 7
  • As Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3151864) in Installed Updates under Control Panel in Windows 8.1/
  • Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3151900) in Installed Updates under Control Panel in Windows 10

.NET Framework 4.6.2 installed in Windows has the following value for the release DWord in Registry

Navigate to this subkey in registry  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftNET Framework SetupNDPv4Full

And check Dword value for release, Windows 10 anniversary update has 394802 value, whereas for other Windows versions you’ll find it as 394806.
