Installation
When you download and run online installer file for Free AVG, ‘AVG Protection‘, means AVG Internet Security with AVG Zen will be installed, click on ‘Custom installation’ and select ‘Basic Protection’ to install the free version and follow the instructions on the screen.

AVG Privacy policy concerns & possible way of opting-out from AVG Free AV 2016
AVG has a new privacy policy that comes into effect from October 15, according to it, user browsing and search data will be sold to third-parties.
If you’re concerned about that, unchecking the below privacy preferences might help.

After installing AVG, click on Options > Advanced Settings > Privacy Preferences
Uncheck the following three
- I’d like to help AVG improve its products by participating in AVG’s Product improvement program
- Send anonymous data about identified or suspicious threats
- Send anonymous data about this software’s usage.
