The only legitimate way to get Robux without paying is to earn them by creating on Roblox: publishing an experience, selling passes or developer products, selling avatar items, or collecting Creator Rewards.
This guide covers every official earning route with its real numbers, what replaced the Affiliate Program, and how to recognise free Robux codes, generators and other scams.

Can you really get free Robux?
Yes, but only by earning them. Roblox does not hand out Robux for watching ads, filling surveys or entering a code from a website.
The fastest route for most players is a simple published experience with one pass for sale.
- Open Roblox Studio, build a small experience and publish it so it is public on Roblox.
- Go to Creations on the Creator Hub and select the experience.
- Go to Monetization ⟩ Passes and click Create pass.
- Upload a 512×512 or smaller icon in .jpg, .png or .bmp format, then enter a name, description and category.
- Click Create pass, set a Robux price and put it on sale.
- Share the experience; you keep 70% of every in-game Robux sale.
If you have not installed it yet, download Roblox Studio for Windows or Mac first. It is free.
How to get free Robux in Roblox
Every route below comes from Roblox's own Creator Hub. None of them is instant, and each needs something you make.
| Method | What you earn | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Earn Robux through Roblox Creator Rewards | 5 Robux per day per qualifying player; 35% of a new player's first $100 of purchases | A published experience that Active Spenders play |
| 2. Create a Roblox experience | The base for methods 1, 4, 5 and 6 | Roblox Studio and a public experience |
| 3. Create and sell avatar items | 30% on the Marketplace, 30% plus 40% to the game owner in-game | ID verification, an 80 Robux upload fee and a publishing advance |
| 4. Sell game passes | 70% of each in-game Robux sale | A published experience |
| 5. Sell developer products | Standard in-game earnings per repeat purchase | A published experience; price from 1 Robux |
| 6. Earn Robux from private servers and other game monetization | A monthly Robux fee per server, plus up to 100 Robux per Roblox Plus subscriber | A public experience with private servers on |
| 7. Sell plugins and models to other creators | US dollars, not Robux: 100% of net proceeds | Creator Store seller eligibility |
| 8. Use Microsoft Rewards when Roblox rewards are available | A Roblox gift item or code, when listed | A Microsoft account; the catalog changes |
Earn Robux through Roblox Creator Rewards
Creator Rewards pays creators automatically, so there is nothing to apply for once your experience is live.
An Active Spender is a player who spent at least $9.99 on Robux, Premium or subscriptions in the past 60 days.
| Reward | Qualifying action | Payout |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Engagement | An Active Spender plays your experience 10+ minutes, and it is one of the first three they launch that day | 5 Robux per player per day |
| Audience Expansion | A new or lapsed player joins through your Share Link and plays 10+ minutes; the experience averages 100+ daily users for 60 days | 35% of that player's first $100 of qualifying purchases in 60 days |

What happened to the Roblox Affiliate Program?
Roblox's current earning documentation no longer lists an Affiliate Program. The job it did, paying you for bringing players to Roblox, now sits inside Creator Rewards as Audience Expansion.
| Question | Answer today |
|---|---|
| Can you still earn for referring new players? | Yes, through Audience Expansion rewards and Share Links |
| Who qualifies? | Creators of experiences, plus influencers in the Video Stars program |
| What counts as a referral? | A new user, or a user who had not logged on for 60 days, joining through your link |
Sell game passes and developer products
Passes are one-time purchases such as a VIP area. Developer products can be bought again and again, such as coins or potions.
- Go to Creations and select your published experience.
- Go to Monetization ⟩ Developer Products.
- Click Create developer product.
- Upload an icon, then enter a name, description and category.
- Set a price in Robux between 1 and 1 billion.
- Click Save Changes, then prompt the purchase from a script with MarketplaceService.
Cross-game pass sales were disabled from May 30, 2026, so sell each pass inside the experience it belongs to.

Create and sell avatar items
Avatar items cost Robux to list, so this route needs a small starting balance before it earns anything.
| Cost or share | Amount |
|---|---|
| Account requirement | Government ID verification, or a linked parent account with ID verification |
| Upload fee | 80 Robux per submission (500 Robux with an emissive mask); not refunded if rejected |
| Publishing advance, classic shirt, pants or t-shirt | 10 Robux, rebated from sales |
| Publishing advance, hat or face | 1,500 Robux |
| Your share on the Marketplace | 30% of each sale |
| Your share when sold in a game | 30%, with 40% to the game owner |
| Escrow | 30 days before the commission arrives |

Earn Robux from private servers
- Open your experience's main page on the Creator Dashboard.
- Expand Audience in the left navigation and click Access Settings.
- Turn on Allow private servers.
- Enable Requires Robux and enter the monthly price.
- Click Save Changes.
Roblox Plus subscribers use paid private servers free, and you still earn up to 100 Robux per subscriber who spends 60 minutes a month in them. Changing the price later cancels every active private server subscription.
Can you get free Robux codes?
No working public code gives free Robux. Robux come only from Roblox purchases, Roblox gift cards someone paid for, or earnings. Even gifting Robux to friends runs through paid gift cards.
| What you see | What it really is |
|---|---|
| A Roblox gift card code from a store | Real, but someone paid for it |
| A promo code in an official Roblox event | Usually a free avatar item, not Robux |
| A "free Robux code" list on a website or video | Fake or already used |
| A Microsoft Rewards Roblox item | Real when the Rewards catalog lists it; it is not always available |
Are free Robux generators real?
No. Robux balances live on Roblox's servers, and no outside tool can add to them.
Generators ask for your username and password, a survey, or an app install, and the payout never arrives.
| Generator asks for | What it is after |
|---|---|
| Your Roblox password | Your account and items |
| "Human verification" surveys | Ad and affiliate money for the site owner |
| Installing an app or extension | Malware or an account stealer |
| Pasting a script into the browser console | Your login session cookie |
Free Robux methods you should avoid
Roblox's Community Standards ban using third-party services to buy, sell, trade or give away Robux, and ban off-platform deals for accounts or virtual items.
Exploits that give an unfair advantage are banned too, so "Robux hacks" can cost you the account you were trying to fill.
Avoid generators, code lists, off-site giveaways, third-party Robux sellers, account sharing and exploit scripts. Each one breaks Roblox's rules, none of them pays out, and several are built to steal accounts.
How to spot a free Robux scam
A site promises Robux for your username and password
Phishing: Roblox bans misleading links meant to get into other people's accounts.
- Close the page without typing anything.
- If you already entered it, sign in on roblox.com and change your Roblox password straight away.
An in-game player or chat message links to a free Robux site
Roblox prohibits directing users off the platform to outside websites.
- Do not open the link.
- Report the player to Roblox instead of replying.
Someone offers Robux in exchange for your items or account
Off-platform trades for accounts or virtual items are banned and cannot be reversed.
- Decline the trade.
- Keep trades inside Roblox's own systems.
What's the best way to earn Robux without buying it?
Publish one small experience and sell a pass or developer product in it; Creator Rewards then pays on top when engaged players visit. Passes keep 70% of each sale, need no upfront Robux, and the same experience unlocks private servers and Creator Rewards. Avatar items need ID verification and Robux up front, and Creator Store sales pay dollars, not Robux.
Once you hold 30,000 earned Robux and are 13 or older, the Developer Exchange program converts them at 10,000 Robux to $38.
Free Robux in Roblox FAQ
Can I really get free Robux in Roblox?
Yes, by earning them. Roblox pays Robux to creators who sell passes, developer products, avatar items and private servers, and through Creator Rewards. No site, code or generator adds Robux to an account.
What is the easiest way to get free Robux?
Sell a game pass in a simple published experience. You keep 70% of each Robux sale, there is no upload fee, and setup takes a few minutes under Monetization, then Passes, on the Creator Hub.
Can I get free Robux without Roblox Premium?
Yes. Passes, developer products, private servers and Creator Rewards need a published experience, not a subscription. Selling avatar items needs ID verification and listing fees, and Premium or Roblox Plus also gives Marketplace access.
Does Microsoft Rewards give free Robux?
Sometimes. Microsoft Rewards has listed Roblox items in its catalog, but the offer is not permanent. Check the Rewards redeem page signed in with your Microsoft account; if no Roblox item is listed, it is not currently available.
Are Robux generators real?
No. Robux are stored on Roblox's servers and no outside tool can change your balance. Generators exist to collect passwords, survey revenue or app installs, and entering details can cost you the account.
Are there working free Robux codes?
No. Public free Robux code lists are fake or already used. Real codes are paid Roblox gift cards, and official promo codes usually unlock avatar items rather than Robux.
Did Roblox remove the Affiliate Program?
Roblox's current earning documentation does not list it. Referral earnings now come from Creator Rewards Audience Expansion: 35% of a new or returning player's first $100 of purchases when they join through your Share Link.
Can I earn Robux by creating a Roblox game?
Yes. A published experience can earn from passes, developer products, private servers, subscriptions, paid access and Creator Rewards. In-game Robux sales pay the creator 70%.
Can I sell Roblox clothes for Robux?
Yes. After ID verification, pay the 80 Robux upload fee and a 10 Robux publishing advance for a classic shirt, pants or t-shirt. You earn 30% of each Marketplace sale after a 30-day escrow.
