Opera to Close My Opera Blogging Platform on March 1, 2014

Last updated on October 31, 2013 By Venkat

Opera has decided to shutdown their My Opera platform next year on March 1 which is five months from now and offering migration tools for users to export their contents in blogs to other services such as WordPress, Typepad, Drupal and other.

" The explosion of these sites and the amount of resources we need to maintain our own service has changed our outlook on My Opera. We had a good run for many years, but we believe your content could have a better home elsewhere, so we have made the decision to shut down My Opera as of March 1, 2014."

They’ve created tools to export My Opera blog and download all content. They’re discontinuing Opera email as well and suggesting you to sign up for a new email service and setup auto-reply in your My Opera email to inform about the new one to your contacts. You can continue to use your My Opera account as Opera account for all opera services and products.
