AVG has silently downloaded that update and not installed in your computer, it can anytime prompts you to install their security toolbar by showing a popup with that update, this may happen or not happen, not happened in our case.
This process runs from location ‘ C:UsersusernameAppDataRoaming’. If you want to disable or remove that annoying process which runs continuously from computer startup, here is how to do that.
Removing AVG-Secure-Search-Update-1231b.exe
1. Open Task Manager, right click on that process and select ‘Open File Location’, now kill that process on Task Manager.
2. Use Alt+ Up arrow to go up one folder level in Explorer, then you’ll be on ‘AVG 1213b Campaign’ (can be AVG xxxx campaign in your computer) folder, permanently delete it using Shift+Delete key combination.
You can’t delete that folder when that process is running, that’s why we’ve killed it before.
