Opera 57 shows ads on Google Search result Pages despite Ad blocker installed [Fix]

If you’ve installed Ad blocking extensions such as Adblock Plus or Ublock Origin in latest Opera 57 and noticed ads are still showing (and not blocked) on Search engine result pages of Google or Bing by extensions, don’t blame extensions, a change introduced in Opera version 57 has caused this and can be fixed, here is how.

1. Launch Opera

2. Click on O Menu > Extensions > Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+E) to open the extensions manager

3. Check “Allow Access to Search page results “.

We’ve found the issue in Opera 57 with Ublock Origin and Adblock Plus installed and choosing the option mentioned in third-step worked made the extensions to successfully block ads.

We’ve noticed built-in ad blocker in Opera, has added Baidu, Facebook, Google and Yandex sites to the exceptions list, you just need to remove them.

For that, visit Extension manager,  Opera Ad blocker > Options > Manage Exceptions, click on three vertical dots and choose ‘remove’ for Google and other sites added as exceptions.
