
Microsoft is continuously making improvements to the PDF component in the new Edge browser, after text notes, the company recently added Video Comments support to PDF Reader. Here is how you can add a Youtube video comment to a PDF document in Edge browser.
Rather than offering PDF viewer as a basic component, Mozilla, Google and Microsoft invest plenty of time to improve and add new features to it.
When comes to the new Edge, after switching to Chromium, Edge PDF Reader lacked many features that Microsoft is aware of and is continuously working to make it more awesome.
In fact, the Edge team created a dedicated road map for built-in PDF Reader in Edge, and set time frames for the completion.
Till now, Microsoft Edge allows you to add text comments to a PDF document, Edge now lets you put YouTube and WebM format Video links into PDFs as comments. The recipient can play and see them without leaving PDF documents in the Edge browser.
Add YouTube Video comments to a PDF document in Microsoft Edge
- Launch Microsoft Edge browser running build 91.0.838 or higher
- Visit edge://flags, find and enable “Add Video comments in PDF”
- Restart Edge browser.
- Open a PDF document
- Select a word or some text, in the right-click menu, select “Add video comment”
- Type or paste the YouTube video URL in the text box and click the tick-mark to save the comment.
- Save the document and share it with your friends via OneDrive or Google Drive or email, ensure they’ve proper permissions to see video URL before sharing.
Note: Before sharing the PDF document with others, always check Video is playing or not by selecting the ” Play video comment” option in the context menu.
Recent additions of Vertical Tabs and built-in and add-ons Store Game themes made Edge more useable and customizable.
