Microsoft soon will allow users to customize Edge browser through a built-in color theme picker similar to Chrome. In addition to the tool, Microsoft also overhauled Edge appearance settings for themes. What this means for end-users is they’ll have more customization options for the Edge browser.
When Edge browser general themes- Default, Light, and Dark- are not enough, you can visit Chrome Web Store and change the look of Edge browser by installing themes made by the Chrome team or 3rd party developers.
To keep you interested, Microsoft released exclusive game themes to the Edge add-ons Store.
And, we now have 13 color-based themes available In Edge appearance Settings when you enable the “Enable picker for color-based themes” flag on the flags page.
Those themes are:
- Morning fog,
- Icy mint
- Island gateway
- Cool breeze
- Silly Pink
- Bubblegum
- Sunny day
- Mango Paradise
- Dark & Stormy
- Cool state
- Moonlight glow
- Juicy plum,
- Spicy red
- Mystical forest
No wonder theme colors are inspired by Chrome, but Edge has got better names.
Edge Appearance Settings provides links to navigate to Edge add-ons store and Chrome Web Store to get themes.
These changes can be seen in Edge 91 Canary (update: enabled by default without relation to flag) and in Edge 90 dev when you enable the color theme picker.
It’s unclear, which edge version will get these changes.
