Microsoft Edge for Android bringing Surf game to New Tab Page w/ share option

Microsoft is currently testing to make Microsoft Edge‘s surf game on Android more discoverable by showing on it New Tab Page and Edge to also allow you to share your game results to further promote it.

If you use Chrome, you might already be familiar with the dino (T-rex) game that browser lets you play on chrome://dino page (arcade mode also available) when you’re offline.

Inspired from Chrome, Microsoft Edge has included Surf game on desktop and mobile. The game is availble when you’re not connected to the internet and also on the edge://surf page. The game helps you pass the time, but it could be a time-wasting one.

Edge surf game requires you to alert and prevent obstacles such as rocks, octopi, and other surfers that come in way of you, endless surfer.
The game has three modes: Endless, Time trial, and ZigZag.

To play the game, when comes to android, you need to double-tap whereas on Windows you’ve to press the space bar on the keyboard.

Enable Surf game on New Tab Page in Microsoft Edge for Android

  1. Visit edge://flags
  2. Turn on the following flags one by one and restart the browser.
    Enable NTP Surf game entry
    Edge surf game new share feature switch
    Edge NTP surf game entry flag

When you follow the above steps, next time you launch Edge, an animated surfer icon appears on a new tab page which you can use to kickstart gaming.
