Internet Download Manager (IDM) gets Dark mode and TLS 1.3 Support

The popular Internet Download Manager (Paid) application has received a major update where 6.37 build 9 has added dark mode support on Windows 10, a new toolbar, and full TLS 1.3 support. The update also improves the IDM download engine, program stability and has fixed some bugs.

Finally, Internet Download Manager has got Windows 10 dark mode support and new Neon toolbar. The Neon toolbar was originally designed for dark mode, but the toolbar looks elegant in light mode also. IDM’s main window and most frequently used IDM’s dialog now support the feature.

Enable Dark mode for IDM in Windows 10

For IDM to go dark,

1. Launch it on Windows 10,

2. Go to Settings > Personalization >Colors, under Choose your default App mode,

3. Select Dark,

4. Switch to IDM to see the change in its appearance.

5.  Improved download engine

6. Improved program stability

7. Fixed bugs including the one where IDM shows vertical grid lines in the main window in dark mode when swapping columns.

To update to the latest IDM version, launch IDM main window, click on Help > check for updates, click update now when the update is available, the new version with new features and improvements will be downloaded and installed, you’ll be asked to restart your computer for the installation to complete, do so.

As of writing this article, the latest version available is 6.37 build 10.

To turn off Dark Mode, click on View > Dark Mode Support.
