Avast 19.1 is out in 2019 to bring new Settings, Speed and improvements

After Avast 18.8, Avast Software has released Avast 19.1 in 2019 and is available to download. The new version launched in the new year is first full 64bit Avast version to get released so far and comes with a simplified and modern look for Settings with Search function included. Thanks to 64-bit support, Avast users using this version on 64-bit Windows will notice faster PC startup and scan times, says the company in the changelog.

New Settings

The new version is all about new settings. The company has simplified settings to display only important ones, the advanced settings have been moved into the geek section.

Visit avast Settings, in the search bar, type geek:area to see the advanced settings.

Don’t like new settings, you can see and access old settings as well until accustomed to the new.

For that, Visit Settings > General> Troubleshooting, click ‘Open old settings’ at the bottom.

Online installer

New online installer knows which Windows version -x86 or x64- you’re using and installs respective version on your computer, the Avast installer also detects Windows Operating system you’re using and installs 18.8 for XP and Vista users when ran. Yep! This version of Avast is available for Windows 7/8 and Windows 10 only.

Other changes

For the first time, Avast now shows boot-time scan results in scan history.

The Avast Settings can be backed up and restored and restored to defaults as well, you need to visit Troubleshooting in General for this. The Troubleshooting Section also allows to repair Avast and lets the user add or remove components.
