Retrieving Malwarebytes registration information if you’ve misplaced it. Till the launch of Malwarebytes 2.0, lifetime license for anti-malware was available for purchase, now its gone subscription-based. If you’ve purchased Malwarebytes v1.x and using it on your computer, if you’ve lost or not found its license key in the email- to which you got order information- don’t worry! Still, there is a way to retrieve Malwarebytes ID and key, here is how to do it.
Retrieving the license key and Identifier from installed Malwarebytes on your computer
1. Download GetMalwarebytesRegistration utility from here, and run it, this fetches Malwarebytes ID and key from the registry and displays them in the notepad (check the screenshot below).
2. Finding the key using the registry
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, you can notice the key and identifier on the right pane (check the screenshot below)
For 64-bit Windows version, you should navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
If either of the above methods or both, doesn’t help, you haven’t found the MBAM registration information in the email as well, and if you’ve purchased Malwarebytes from Cleverbridge before, then visit this link and enter the email address, which you gave them during the online purchase. It will look up all your orders processed under that email, and emails seeking information to you.
Or you can contact Cleverbridge customer support via email or phone, you need to provide them information such as cleverbridge reference number, date of purchase, email address used, etc. to find your information.
Note: If you’ve bought Malwarebytes 2.0 version and above and performed a clean install on your computer, then it’s tough to find that information in the registry, because it’s already encrypted.
Has this post helped you in finding the information you’re looking for? Do you know any other way to fetch the license details of MBAM installed on your computer? Let me know in the comments.
