The Translate feature enabled by default in Microsoft Chromium Edge got an update, a recent update to Canary version added “Never Translate” option for the offered language in the Translation dialog.
Microsoft doesn’t offer native translation feature in Classic Edge browser, the company offers an extension for that in the Store, however, the company uses Microsoft Translator in Bing, Skype, and other products. Microsoft integrated the translate tool in Chromium-based Edge to translate pages. The feature has been turned on by default in Dev and Canary versions.
Whenever you encounter a foreign language page in new Edge browser, you’ll be asked to translate the page from that language to language the browser set to display in Settings with “Always translate pages from …” that language and “Not now” options.
The Translate dialog in new Canary Edge v77.0.237.0 now includes “Never Translate ..” for the offered language under Not now menu, if you don’t want the browser to translate pages for a particular language, choose the option in the popup when displayed, that language will be added and listed under “Languages” under Languages Settings.
For instance, if you visit a German site in Microsoft Edge browser, Edge prompts to “Translate from German”, you can choose “Never Translate German” option in UI, from then on you won’t be asked to translate German pages.
If you want the never translate option back for that (German) language in the translate popup, visit Settings > Languages, for “German”, click on more actions menu and select “Offer to translate pages in this language”.
