This is something we’ve not expected Piriform to do, they’re now bundling CCleaner Browser which is still in Preview with CCleaner. If you don’t notice and uncheck the boxes after launching the CCleaner setup, CCleaner browser will be installed and set as the default browser, which also means CCleaner browser takes over file associations. For instance, it will be set as default PDF Reader to open PDF files, so more chaos with bundleware.

We’re the first report CCleaner Browser was available online for download with a built-in ad blocker, anti-tracking, and anti-fingerprinting features. The browser is still in preview and not officially announced by Piriform.
This is another Chromium-based browser similar to Avast Secure, but with CCleaner branding. We did express our opinion do we really need a CCleaner Browser here, but Piriform told us that there are many interesting features in the pipeline, which we don’t want to disclose at the moment.
Coming back to the story, if you now try to install latest CCleaner v5.59 or V5.60 on your computer, the setup automatically installs CCleaner Browser and makes it as the default browser unless you uncheck two boxes in the page and proceed with the installation.
A couple of users already reported about this in Piriform forum stating that updating CCleaner to the latest version installed CCleaner browser and converted PDFs to CCleaner HTML documents.
If you’ve installed CCleaner Browser that is offered with CCleaner, you can uninstall lt like any app by visiting Programs and features in Control Panel.
