Piriform launches CCleaner browser, available for download

Piriform quietly introduced CCleaner browser based on Chromium for Windows without any announcement and is available for download right now on their website.

With the existing CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Speccy, CCleaner for Mac, CCleaner Network products, Piriform added CCleaner Browser to its product list. Piriform owned by Avast software, already offers Avast Secure browser 73.0, Aspen, now what’s the need for them to launch the browser with CCleaner branding?

Before we get into details, we say CCleaner browser and Avast Secure browser are the same with the same set of privacy and security tools, but brand names are different, that’s all.

CCleaner Browser has built-in-in Cleaning tool available with the name of “Privacy Cleaner”. The browser provides Anti-Phishing, Anti-tracking and HTTPS Encryption. You can see all the features and tools browser ships within the Security & Privacy Center.

CCleaner Browser comes integrated with an ad blocker, Extension Guard, Flash Blocker, Password Manager, Privacy Cleaner, Stealth Mode, Video Downloader and Webcam Guard.

CCleaner application if installed on your computer detects CCleaner Browser and cleans it like any other browser. Similarly, CCleaner Browser detects and displays CCleaner application in Security & Privacy Center.

The browser comes with Google as the default Search engine.

System Requirements: Windows 10, Windows 8.1/8 and Windows 7.

UPDATE June 20, 2019: Piriform contacted and told us that CCleaner browser is still in Preview, more privacy and cleaning features still needs to be added and they updated the product page to reflect this.
