Starting Windows 10 20H2, Alt+Tab shows more tabs from Microsoft Edge browser The number of Edge tabs that appear can be controlled in Windows 10 multitasking Settings. Microsoft has now given control to Edge users also to manage this thing. The feature is available in Edge Canary 89.0.736.0 behind a flag.
On Windows 10 20H2, when you press Alt+Tab, Windows OS can show
- Open windows and all tabs in Edge
- Open Windows and most recent tabs in Edge
- Open Windows and 3 most recent tabs in Edge
- Open Windows only
Visit Settings > System > Multitasking > Alt+ Tabs, choose any one of the above option.
The Alt+ Tab experience in Windows 10 right now is a bit buggy.. If you don’t like this feature, you can now disable it in Edge also.
Disable Edge tabs in Windows 10 Alt+Tab in Edge browser
- Launch Edge browser
- Visit edge://flags
- Search for “Browser tab experiences in Windows”

- Click on the Dropdown arrow and select “disabled”
- Restart the browser.
Microsoft offers this description for the feature flag:
“Allows Windows to show open Microsoft Edge tabs in OS experiences like Alt+Tab, pinned sites, and more.”
It’s worth noting that, disabling the flag, gets rid of Edge Canary tabs from Alt+Tab but not from other Edge versions you’re running such as Edge dev, beta and Stable.
Let us hope Microsoft Edge brings a UI option to toggle Alt+Tab experience on Windows.
