Google Chrome Canary now lets you remove all Third-Party Cookies

Google Chrome after offering improved Cookie Controls UI in regular and incognito modes that block tracking cookies by default, now the latest Canary version allows removing all third-party cookies and site data through an option at Chrome://settings/siteData page.

Till now Chrome allows us to “Prevent third-party websites from saving and reading cookie data” when you enable block third-party cookies setting in the browser. Now if you turn on the “Enable removing SameSite= None Cookies”flag, it shows the “Remove third-party cookies” button in All cookies and SiteData page, which when clicked, clears “all cookies and site data available in third-party contexts”.

To make Chrome to show “Remove Third-Party Cookies” option in Settings

1. Ensure you’re using latest Chrome Canary 79.0.3933.1 or later

2. Visit chrome://flags/#enable-removing-all-third-party-cookies

3. Select “Enabled” and restart the browser.

4. Now click on Chrome menu > Settings

5. Click on Advanced > Privacy and Security,

6. Click Site Settings > Cookies and Site data > See all cookies and site data or just visit “chrome://settings/siteData” page in the address bar

7. Click Remove Third-party cookies and click “Clear third-party cookies” to confirm.

So instead of removing all cookies, Chrome now allows to remove third-party ones. As you know, deleting cookies signs you out of websites and requires you to sign in back again, this may not happen when you remove third-party cookies.
