Tab Hover Card Images and Focus Mode now working in Chrome Canary

Last updated on March 21, 2019 By Venkat

Finally, after some days, Focus Mode and Tab Hover card images flags are now working. For the uninitiated, Chromium developers first added Tab Hover cards to show tab information when you hover over a tab, later, they added Tab Hover card images, so that with both these flags enabled, you can able to see preview of pages when you hover over, you can find this similar to Edge Tab Previews.

Few days back we’ve reported Chromium developers have added Focus mode flag to Canary and since then, with other flags enabled, we’re checking updates to Canary daily to notice any improvements and we’ve updated the article when the “Focus this tab” option added to tab context menu.

After today’s update, this option is now working and when selected, that tab will open in a separate window and site’s favicon will appear on the taskbar. The latest CL applied a few hours back reads “when clicking “focus this tab”, the current tab should be brought to a new window.” We’re not sure the feature is complete, at least we can now see what’s Chrome focus mode is up-to.

Google is planning to add Focus mode to Incognito and Guest sessions as well.

What do you say on these new features which are not guaranteed to reach the stable version?
