Firefox about processes aka Process Manager

Both about:performance and about:proceesses were available for more than 4 years. The former has bitten the dust now in 2023.

The organization found about:processes is much better than about:performance. To inform users os this change, the former now redirects to the latter.

about:performance makes it easier for users to sort memory usage by tab where as this is not straightforward with about:processes. Firefox’s internal page on performance is simple whereas the internal page on Firefox Processes is more complex.

As of now, in Firefox 116, the following changes can be seen:

  • When you visit about:performance page, you’ll be redirected to about:processes
  • The Task Manager present under the More Tools sub-menu also takes you to about:processes
