F.lux software that adjusts computer screen brightness according to the time of the day, has version 4.84 released and is available for download. The update brings a grayscale mode, which when enabled, helps you focus on reading and adds support for dusk-to-dawn hue lights, so that people using F.lux can put hue lights outside and can turn them off during the day by using the app.
F.lux with grayscale mode
The f.iux app, which designed to protect your eyes from blue light at night, doesn’t go away when you use grayscale mode, but f.lux continues to run alongside this feature. The newly added grayscale can be enabled by using Windows +End keys combination on Windows or by selecting ‘grayscale’ from ‘Effects and exta colors’ sub-menu in the F.lux menu.
So what’s the use of grayscale mode?
The developer feels the app colors on top and bottom of screen cause distractions, turning on grayscale removes these distractions and makes your computer look like a magazine for a better reading experience.
