Recently, CCleaner 5.37 has been released with improved cleaning for Firefox and Microsoft Edge. The surprise here is that Piriform has bundled Avast with this CCleaner update and made its installation as an opt-in (instead of opt-out).
Means, those who installed (and install) CCleaner, will end up installing unwanted Avast (unless they carefully watch and uncheck avast at the page footer) on their computers. This has raised some eyebrows. If you’ve Avast installed this way, you can uninstall it by visiting Control Panel applet. Remember this, Avast now owns Piriform.
