Download a complete Revit offline installer

The default Install button streams files during setup. Autodesk Account offers three other methods, including full installers you can copy to machines without internet access.

Method Best for Includes updates
Install One PC, download and install in one step Yes
Download Installing later or on several computers Yes
Direct download Offline installation from one complete package Not for most products
Custom install Offices deploying Revit to many PCs Yes, latest selected by default

Pick the method from the drop-down arrow next to Install on the Revit tile in Autodesk Account.

When a package arrives in several parts, save every part in one folder. Double-click only the file with 001 in its name to start extraction.

How to run Revit on a Mac

Revit has no macOS version. Autodesk documents running the Windows build inside a Windows 11 virtual machine with Parallels Desktop, or with Boot Camp on Intel Macs.

Your Mac Setup Note
Apple silicon Mac on macOS 13.7 Ventura or newer Parallels Desktop with Windows 11 Any Apple silicon chip is listed
Intel Mac, quad-core Core i7 or better Parallels Desktop with Windows 11 Boot Camp is the other documented route
Mac with less than 32 GB of memory Revit 2027 Mac requirements Autodesk recommends 32 GB on the Mac and 16 GB for the virtual machine

Give the virtual machine at least 4 GB of video memory and 40 GB of free disk space. Accelerated graphics do not work in Parallels, so leave Use Hardware Acceleration off in Revit.

Is Revit free?

No. Revit is a paid subscription, with a free trial and a free education licence. Autodesk trials are fully licensed for 15 to 30 days and are for evaluation only, not for profit, production or commercial work. Students and faculty at accredited schools can download Revit free through the Autodesk Education Community, for non-commercial learning on up to two devices. Everyone else needs a paid subscription after the trial. A site offering a free full version of Revit is distributing cracked or tampered software.

Autodesk may ask education users for proof of eligibility, and it can block access when an education licence is used commercially.

Should you install Revit 2027 or Revit 2026?

Both releases come with the same subscription. Your Windows version usually settles it.

Install Revit 2027 on Windows 11. Install Revit 2026 only on a Windows 10 PC or when your team still works in 2026 files. Revit 2027 lists only 64-bit Windows 11 and needs .NET 10. Revit 2026 supports Windows 10 version 1809 or later and Windows 11. Models from earlier releases go through a one-time upgrade when a newer Revit opens them, and that upgrade can need extra memory.

How to check your Revit version and update it

Revit shows a build number rather than the update name. Match it against the numbers below.

  1. Open Revit and select Help > About.
  2. Read the build number in the About dialog.
  3. Open Autodesk Access to see the updates that apply to your copy.
  4. Close Revit and install the newest update with an administrator account.
  5. Or sign in to Autodesk Account and download the update from there.
  6. Reopen Help > About and confirm the new build number.

Build 27.3.0.28 means you have Revit 2027.3, released September 15, 2026. The first 2027 release reports 27.0.4.412.

Updates are cumulative, so the newest one includes every earlier fix. The 2027.2 and 2027.3 updates cannot be uninstalled, so back up Revit.ini and other custom files first.

  3. Uninstall any partial Revit entry from Settings > Apps.
  4. Restart the PC and run the installer again.

Unsupported operating system on Windows 10

Revit 2027 supports only Windows 11.

  3. Choose Revit 2026, which lists Windows 10 version 1809 or later.
  4. Download the package and install it with the same account.

The download never starts

The browser blocks the pop-up that starts the download.

  1. Allow pop-ups for autodesk.com in your browser.
  2. Select Install or Download on the Revit tile again.
  3. Switch to Direct download if the streamed install keeps failing.

How to uninstall Revit completely

A clean uninstall and reinstall is the fix Autodesk gives when Revit files are deleted or damaged.

  1. Close Revit and every other Autodesk program.
  2. Press Windows + I and open Apps > Installed apps.
  3. Find the Autodesk Revit entry for your version and select Uninstall.
  4. Confirm, then select Uninstall again in the Autodesk Installer dialog.
  5. Select Finish when the process completes.
  6. Restart the PC before you reinstall.

The uninstall also removes bundled add-ons such as Batch Print and eTransmit. Shared Autodesk components stay, because other Autodesk products may need them.
