
Microsoft is testing new animation for Taskbar icons in Windows 11 22H2. Generally, when you boot into Windows, you can see icons on the taskbar with a flyout effect, the software giant is experimenting with a zoom-in effect for taskbar icons. Here is how you can enable new taskbar animation in Windows 11.
Windows 11 comes with pleasing rich fluid animation effects that are bliss for the eyes to watch.
After running various search bar designs on the taskbar in Windows 11 dev, Microsoft is looking to replace the flyout animation effect for the taskbar with zoom-in.
Like other new features and experiments, the new feature enabling requires using a third-party tool named ViveTool.
Enable new Taskbar Animations in Windows 11
1. Download Vivetool from Github
2. Extract its files to a folder
3. Navigate to the ViveTool directory, right click and copy the path.
4. Type in cmd in Start and select Run as administrator
5. Type CD and use Ctrl+V to paste ViveTool location in Terminal window and press enter
6. To enable new taskbar animation, run the following command
vivetool /enable /id:39072097
Restart your computer after that to notice the taskbar with icons being loaded with new animation. You can also restart Windows Explorer using Task Manager to observe the same.
How to disable new taskbar animation in Windows 11
- Follow the above steps from 1 to 5
- and run this command
vivetool /disable /id:39072097
- Restart Windows.
It is still unclear, which animation- flyout or zoom in- Microsoft goes with after testing.
Do note Windows 11 animations can hamper performance when you run the new Windows OS on slower machines, hence you may want to disable animation effects to make it feel snappier.
How to disable Animation effects in Windows 11
- Open Settings App (Win+I)
- Click on Accessibility
- Visit Visual effects
- Turn off Animation effects.
