
Twitter has changed the font and Visual language such as colors it uses for its service on the web and mobile. The company says the new Visual Updates for Twitter makes it “more accessible, unique and focused on you what you’re talking about”. Twitter enabled Chirp font on all platforms. If you don’t like Twitter’s new font, you can disable it on the Twitter website and Twitter App on Android, here is how.
What you need to know:
- Twitter has rolled out Chirp font on all platforms
- Twitter buttons no longer appear blue. The navigation and follow navigation buttons appear black because of high contrast.
- With the new Typeface, all western-language text now aligns left
- Twitter claims, the redesign has removed visual clutter.

Disable Twitter’s new Chirp font in Web browsers
Twitter itself admitted the changes may look weird at first, you may need to adapt to them.
If you like Visual Changes for Twitter on the website, iOS, Android and mobile web, that’s fine. But if you don’t like it you can turn off the font change at least for now.
For Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and other browsers
1. While you’re on Twitter, open developer tools (Ctrl+Shift +I)
2. Click on Console, paste the following command, and press Enter
document.cookie="ab_decider=responsive_web_chirp_font_enabled=false"
Optional: If you want the left navigation pane to look much better, run this command instead:
document.cookie="ab_decider=responsive_web_chirp_font_enabled=false&responsive_web_nav_visual_refresh_enabled=false"
3. Hard reload the Twitter.

Note: Be careful, if you wipe out browsing data including cookies, you’ll need to sign in to Twitter again, you’ll be then greeted with the new design.
So, whitelist or never remove Twitter cookies.
To restore Twitter’s new UI, replace “false” with “true” in the above command (s) and run by following the steps given above.
To disable Twitter’s new Chirp font on Android
- install the Previous version of Twitter APK
- Open Google Play Store, search for Twitter, and visit its page
- Tap on the 3dots menu and uncheck “Enable auto update”
Block Chirp font on Twitter using UBlock Origin:

- Click on the UBlock Origin icon
- Click on the cogwheel to open the Dashboard
- Select My filters tab, copy and paste the following and click “Apply changes”.

You may need to disable and re-enable UBO on Twitter to see the changes.
Do note you may need to run and apply either Javascript command or UBO Filters, but not both.

Every time I shut down my computer, it reverts back to the awful Chirp font. Any way to make this permanent?
