Google is ramping up improvements to Memory Saver Mode. The feature was introduced with the aim to improve the memory usage of Chrome, it now shows how much memory is saved for each tab. This is such a useful thing when you’ve multiple tabs open, you can know which site or page on a tab consumed most when you revisit them.
Google Chrome Memory Saver could turn out the best feature Google launched now for its web browser on the desktop. The feature frees up memory from inactive tabs for other tasks or applications on the device.
Not long ago we reported, Chrome lets you select the time when your tabs become inactive ranging from 5 minutes to all through a day. Chrome also lets you distinguish tabs that were discarded. You can notice their favicons faded to recognize.

Google has gone one step ahead and lets users know memory improved for each tab when a Memory Saver was enabled for Chrome.
With Memory Saver being active, if you open multiple tabs and when they are discarded after a while if you click on the speedometer icon, Chrome shows how much memory is consumed for the respective tab, you can close the dialog by clicking OK.

The Memory Saver’s new feature is being tested in Chrome 115 Canary.
