Microsoft shows Edge browser ads on Lock Screen in Windows 10 May 2019 Update

Microsoft showing ads on lock screen in Windows 10 isn’t new, in the latest May 2019 feature update, the company is showing Edge browser ads and you can’t turn them off.

Windows Spotlight feature that shows different images on lock screen in Windows 10, also displays fun facts, tips, and suggestions. To the latest, in Windows 10 version 2019, Microsoft is displaying ads on Edge browser for the first time. In our opinion, it would make sense if they promote Chromium-Edge but not classic Edge.

Anyway, here is what the ad says “Try the browser recommended by Microsoft to make the most of Windows 10. Microsoft Edge is built for Windows 10 and for how you browse the web. Try it now”, you can see another ad on the top left side of the lock screen. For us, the ad not responded when we clicked on it.

But the thing is process of turning off ads requires you to use a local picture as lock screen and you also need to ensure  “Get fun facts, tips, and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen” setting is turned off under Lock Screen in Personalization Settings, but doing this also doesn’t helps.
