Though the new recycle bin icon is not that bad but still this is a remarkable guide to change the icon.

    Thanks for sharing.

I just copied and renamed imgres.dll from the previous build and changed the Recycle Bin icons.

That’s fine and glad to know that, but how many users now have previous build or previous build’s imgres.dll available with them to change Recycle Bin icons. There are other ways exist to do this thing, I shared what I did, there might be simpler way of doing it like you mentioned. Anyway thanks for sharing and letting me know anyway.

You’re still looking to change the RecycleBin icon? Isn’t the one in build 10074 looking good for you?

Followed all of the above but then found mine by clicking browse, double clicking my C:\ drive then windows.old then I clicked windows then system32 and then imageres.dll

You shouldn’t be selecting Windows.old folder its not part of current Windows folder your OS is using.
Windows.old contains previous windows instalaltion files, after upgrade if you’ve not wiped it using Cleanmgr you can downgrade to previous Windows.

Thanks, just used your info. I upgraded to win10 July 1 2016 and really do not like the rectangle bin. went to windows.old, copied imageres.dll to a folder under my documents area. Then navigated to my location, set it to the round clear bin. That way if in future upgrades Win10 wipes windows.old, i’ll still have the old icons. I was surprised it wasn’t in the current Win10 icon list, especially since they claim to be so much more in tune with users.
